CAESARS ENTERTAINTMENT PARTNERS WITH CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BEAUTIFY DORIS REED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LAS VEGAS
LAS VEGAS (November 17, 2014) – Caesars Entertainment National Meetings and Events team and its clients recently got their hands dirty for a good cause as they worked with Caesars Entertainment’s HERO community service organization to restore an elementary school in Las Vegas. The Caesars Entertainment National Meetings and Events team oversees meeting sales and operations at the company’s nearly 40 properties across the nation. Each year as part of its client educational experience in Las Vegas, it brings its team members and customers from across the country to a location in the Las Vegas Valley that needs a large scale community service project completed.
On November 8, 2014, the National Meetings and Events team set its sights on Doris Reed Elementary School. The school was built in 1986 as part of the Clark County School District and was in dire need of beautification. Doris Reed Elementary School chose “Yes, we can! ¡Si, podemos!” for this year’s theme, which has been embraced by students, their parents and the school’s faculty and staff. The school has focused this year on bringing in family and community members to Doris Reed Elementary School to reinforce the importance of collaboration and building partnerships.
Volunteers consisted of over 175 customers, 85 Caesars Entertainment National Meetings and Events staff members, and 30 Caesars Entertainment HERO volunteers. They performed a number of painting activities, including painting and decorating the outdoor fences and playground, painting bathrooms, and painting the multimedia room; cleaning the indoor and outdoor campus; and performing restoration work across the school’s campus.
“At Caesars Entertainment, we have a strong commitment to the communities in which we live and work,” said Michael Massari, Senior Vice President of National Meetings and Events. “We decided several years ago that it would be a more valuable and impactful use of our time during our client educational events to include community service as part of the program. Our clients and team find these events very gratifying, and it was great to work alongside Doris Reed Elementary’s staff and students to transform their school into the fun and engaging environment it deserves.”
The work Caesars Entertainment’s employees and clients completed serves as a visual reflection of the revitalization of the school and the company’s commitment to the school’s success.
